Bachelor of Science in Agriculture General

The programme produce competent graduates able to integrate agriculture science and technology for sustainable crop and livestock production in different farming systems and industries. Graduate fits in the smallholder farmers, cooperative unions to large scale production and entrepreneurship. The graduates can identify problem and provide viable technical solutions in the framework of the available resources. The programme equip graduates with skills on marketing of agricultural products, planning, organization, management and administration of agricultural enterprises.

LEARNING OUTCOME

At the end of the programme the candidate will be able to:

  1. Improve crop and livestock production outputs and profits
  2. Build sustainable crop and livestock enterprises in tropical settings.
  3. Apply Scientific knowledge relevant to agriculture, management of the natural resources and the environment
  4. support farmers and livestock keepers on crop and livestock production
  5. Implement agricultural research relevant to the needs of the farmers.
  6. Competent Agricultural managers are groomed here

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Two principal passes (4 points) in Biology and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Geography or Agriculture. OR Diploma in Agriculture with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects at O-Level.

Tshs 1,263,000 per year.
